A note to long-term investors
TL:DR; Don't just invest in ideas. Invest in teams.
You probably already know that if you are in it for the long term, you should thoroughly read the whitepaper of the projects that you are looking to invest it.
Make sure the product has a market and/or is trying to solve a problem. Everything, suffixed with 'decentralized' is not worth investing.
But, the main point that I want to emphasize via this post is that not every coin with a revolutionary idea is gonna survive in the long run. More than the idea, it is about the execution of that idea. There is a reason why every e-commerce store is not Amazon. And every search engine is not Google.
I don't want to take names but there are so many great ideas token out there but without a solid team, they are gonna phase. Ideas cannot run the show. People do.
Think of investing in coins as investing in startups. You read the whitepaper and everything seems good. Great. Now, take 30 minutes of your precious time to check the entrepreneurial history of the team. What are the CEO's past achievements? What has the head developer previously build? Do they even have a linkedin page? Make sure you have answers to these and other similar questions as well.
This is my first post, so I also want to address the elephant(or bear?) in the room: Price dips.
I don't like talking a lot about price movements. I think the crypto community should just collectively stop tracking prices all the freaking time. It just doesn't matter. Give yourself some perspective. Do this small little exercise. Check out your favorite coin's price graph but on a logarithmic scale and not on a linear scale. Do it now. It'll give you some peace of mind.
For example, here is the price graph of Ethereum on a linear scale and on a logarithmic scale.
For the love of Satoshi, STOP PANICKING.
This is my first post. Let me know your thoughts guys.
