What you describe is that optimistic case, which I tend to agree with. One pessimistic case is that blockchain tech gets a reboot, which allows for the positive impact of blockchain technology without the need for high-priced tokens.
Yes, I'll reluctantly agree that the latter could be the case, though I'd have to research more the likelihood and plausibility of this scenario.
