#0 The experiment: buy-and-hold vs. trading

Dear community,

With this introductory article I want to present you my project, which I will accompany here on Steemit. The project is about a comparison between active trading (just "trading" hereafter) and passive trading ("buy-and-hold" in the following) of crypto assets. The comparison will not - as done here before - only happen on paper. Instead I will undertake it with real money. This means, starting on a specific day, I will buy-and-hold 1000 Euros and use another 1000 Euros for trading. After one year I will compare both account balances and perhaps continue for another year. Meanwhile I will steadily disclose my Blockfolio and all trades to you in a transparent manner. That way everyone can constantly compare which form of investment is more lucrative long-term.

For both forms of investment I will spend a lot of time with profound analysis, which I will each further outline in the following both articles. Trading as well as buy-and-hold will be done to the best of my knowledge and beliefs, so that both forms of investment can be compared on a highly analytical level.

For a starting date of the comparison I will choose a day in March 2018, whereby a lot of analysis is still pending. As of now I'm working ten hours a day at this project, reading whitepapers back-to-back and in parallel dealing with the teams and the community behind numerous projects. But thanks to my law studies I learned to have fun working on exciting subjects until mental exhaustion. With this in mind I wish a successful Crypto-year 2018 to everyone.
