😤 My misadventure with JAXX and ETC - Worst wallet ever
I'm sorry to admit it.
Until they won't fix my problem (if they're able to do it, I doubt...) I'll always say that
Jaxx is the worst wallet ever!
I created a fresh new ETC wallet and I've sent my ETC from Poloniex to my Jaxx wallet.
After some time I still didn't see anything in my wallet.
Checked the transaction : more than 6000 confirms in the blockchain.
So I tried with the "clear cache" procedure that should re-initialize the wallet without losing address and my private key...
Guess what?
Jaxx is stuck on "initializing wallet", I still don't see anything in my balance and I can't access to my private key.
I wrote to the support and they told me that funds are safe and they're working on fixing that problem.
Funds are safe? I don't see anything in my wallet, I can't access to my private key and I should trust them?
I think I've lost my ETC.
Anyone has suggestions?
(ok I already know that I shouldn't buy ETC 😢)
I think Jaxx is a great hot wallet. You can exchange coins right from inside the app. Hey Danbadjar, did you record your private key for ETC or did you back up your 12 word Mnemonic? If you did which you're suppose to then you can access it from www.myetherwallet.com Select "send coins and tokens" and then use your private key or 12 word mnemonic and unlock your wallet. For the 12 words pick the first selection that has Jaxx and pick the address that has your ETC inside it. Change the NODE to ETC epool.io in the top right corner and now you have access to your ETC.
It was my fault and I didn't record my private key, but why I didn't see anything in my balance?
That's why I tried the clear cache procedure that doesn't not delete my data, they said.
Now I'm away from the wallet (it's on another pc) but I'll try the procedure you suggested.

Have you tryed to update Jaxx to a newer version ? I had some problems with the older version 1.2.13 for desktop. Couldnt see the fiat-money and had some problems to send and see the transactions. It helps me with a update ver 1.2.18.
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I have updated jaxx to 1.2.18 but problem persists...
Try using the Jaxx Chrome extension and pairing it with your old wallet. That version is 100% working and stable from what i found!

PC: don't know anything about Jaxx
