My 2 Satoshis: Crypto for the skepticalsteemCreated with Sketch.

Are you skeptical but amazed at the growth of crypto currencies like Bitcoin? Me too!

I’d like to share my impression of the “crypto currency ecosystem” in simple terms backed by my own opinion after months of research into crypto currency.

I don’t have any formal training in crypto currency, because none exists! This is a brand new service (or utility) that has over a decade of evolution and LIMITLESS applications.

My two Satoshis’ worth? You need to learn this. This is the way things will be done in the future.

Research, creativity and resourcefulness are the only things need to prosper in this ecosystem. But a degree in programming or cryptography will be lucrative!

Right at this moment, those that transact and experiment in crypto currency are on the summit of a mountain (this is a metaphor).

We have reached a point, high atop the mountain, were we know something important has just occurred. But, if you’ve done a summit hike, the peak is often shrouded in clouds or trees. You know you are at the top but you just cant see the scenery (what the possibilities are, what the future holds).

The good news is that the achievement has been made: a distributed, open, secure ledger has been created (in many forms). All you need to know is what you want to do with it and how to use it.

Apply it to just about any enterprise or industry.

If this is a “gold rush” metaphor, pun and historical example all rolled into one. As Mark Twain might have said, “history doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme.”

The current crypto market is crazy: it’s like the gold rush of 1849. That’s when thousands of people moved to California with the promise of mining gold.

Was it a bubble, a fad or a mass hysteria?

Yep.

But people flocked to Cali anyway, and some even got rich.

Who else got rich, if the best miners did not? The entrepreneurs that flocked as well, selling shovels and pans and pickaxes and tents to the miners. One guy tried selling tents. He failed. He made jeans instead. His name was Levi Strauss. As in Levi Jeans.

I don’t want to be a miner. I want to be Levi Strauss. I want to provide the tools and support for the coming change. Cryptocurrency is already changing the world. This is unstoppable, just like the growth of the internet.

Sort:

You are absolutely right; more tools and support will bring more people into crypto world. Only thing that keeps it away from mainstream is the lack of right support for its application in every day use.

Great article btw.

Thanks! I've been researching how this can help business accounting. No one has even brought it up. They are still running for ICOs.
