A 3 year old crypto-connoisseur and two more milestones. Moving up in the Steemit World!

The other day, when I checked my status in Steemitboard.com, I noticed that I moved from being
a tiny little Redfish,
to a full Minnow! Yeeehaa!
So I became this:

Instead of this:

I know, I know...I'm still no big fish, but bigger than I was and I'm damn proud of it!

A minnow is when you have 1,000,000 or more vests something that I've only achieved a few days ago.

To check this for yourself, you can go to @steemitboard's website www.steemitboard.com and type your user name to find out where you stand. You can also see all your badges there.

Then, yesterday morning I noticed this:

I went from 59 reputation to 60 reputation overnight. Well, it's more like from 59.992 to 60, because it takes a little while. And although I know going from here on out is going to be much, much tougher, I think I deserve a little tap on the back. So: TAP...TAP.

My youngest son is becoming crypto-knowing!

Probably one of my proudest mommy moments so far was also this morning when my three year old (!!!) son came to sit with me for a cuddle, chatted a little about his dinosaur and then said: "Bitcoin".
Since I hardly ever mention bitcoin to him, I was a little puzzled so just to test what he knew I decided to go to cryptocompare and asked him to point out Bitcoin. And HE DID!
He may not be able to read yet (which is perfectly fine, because I unschool my kids) but he can read CRYPTO!
Now if that's not awesome, then I don't know what is! Now I just have to teach him about Steem(it) and we're all set!

Children are the future, and their generation will do great things with this. I can feel it in my bones.

Steem on!

Teach them young... "Bitcoin." LOL... at 4 he may say Ethereum... let's hope so.... hope you have an awesome day!

thank you! Well, I am trying to teach him about Steem(it) first lol. He already owns a cryptokitty.

That's awesome! I think I would be happier to hear than than 'Dad' or something... it's much cooler haha

I'm off to Ireland this week! Here's a post I made to see if we can gauge interest for a meetup.. Hope to see you there!: https://steemit.com/ireland/@jeffjagoe/off-to-the-emerald-isle-dublin-steem-meet-up-st-patrick-s-weekend

Yeah, I had a very proud moment :) If I would have discovered crypto sooner, he probably would have had a crypto name lol. (steemio hahaha) I will read it, but am coming to Dublin for sure!!! Have a safe trip and will see you soon!

Congratulations ! Especially on your little boy's crypto knowledge! Quite impressive...
And thanks for reminding me about those stats...I'm there too...:))

YAY!!! Congratulations to you too! 60 seems so grown up lol :) And yes, it was a very proud mommy moment!

Congrats! @misslasvegas.

Well done!! Enjoying your blog lately. Keep up the good work.

Congrats!

🤩

thank you...and you: slow down a bit lol.

What does 'unschool' your kids mean? I don't think schools teach enough of the things that children need to know, so I don't know how much they would really miss out on except for the interaction with other children (unless it is bullying or peer pressure)...

Sorry for the late reply @plushzilla, unschooling basically means that I adapt the 'lessons' to their interests. Now in our case I think simple maths and language has to be implemented, but for the rest, they pretty much decide what they want to learn. It's more autonomous and depending on age, they work more independently sometimes and sometimes it's something we all do. I learn with and from them as well. It's amazing what they do when you let them.... As for the interaction with others: in school there is hardly any interaction. Besides the breaks in which they have to fit lunch etc. My youngest daughter was in school for two years and had one play date with someone and maybe three birthday parties. She's had more of those outside of her school circle. We have meetups too with other homeschoolers.
