I was planning to use Changelly for converting bitcoins to Stellar and just wanted to explore their exchange rate before that. Following is the exchange rate offered in Changelly website for USD.

This number comes to 0.041748 USD per XLM.

At the same time, exchange rate offered in lobstr.co (lumens wallet) is 0.0135 USD per XLM.

The exchange rate mentioned in coincap.io 0.02856.

If we consider the rate mentioned in lobstr.co, changelly is charging more than 32% and this percentage is even high if we consider coincap.io rates. I understand the rate varies based on exchange and other factors, but still charging 32% (nearly one third of your total) is way too high unless I am missing some other detail.

When we convert one coin to another, more often than not, we will not know the actual conversion rate unless we do an analysis like this. Please be cautious when you are converting coins and don't trust any service blindly.
