Cryptocurrency Blog, Crypto Exchanges

What is Coinbase? Coinbase is a platform that allows you to trade different cryptocurrency through their site. It currently offers 4 different cryptocurrency to choose from; Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Etherium, and Litecoin. While this exchange is extremely popular, there are many problems that this exchange faces. Just recently, Coinbase had to suspend trading on their platform for a period of time today as well as yesterday due to giant drops in price for Bitcoin. This is a major problem for traders as it takes their ability away to commit trades and either liquidate out of a position or get in. I personally have used this exchange and find it easy to use yet extremely slow. It takes a long time to get your money in and the transaction time is so slow due to the volume of users. If you are not okay with longer wait times, you should look for other exchanges that offer quicker services.

One thing to note however, is the security of the Coinbase exchange. Due to such large numbers of investors using Coinbase, it is one of the most trusted and secure exchanges on the marketplace today which gives more reason to conduct your business through them.

The next exchange I will look at is Kraken. Kraken is more geared towards experienced traders who have already had some experience on other exchanges. It offers more currencies than Coinbase adding Monero, Ethereum classic, Augur Rep, ICONOMI, Zcash, Dogecoin, Ripple, Stellar/Lumens. This exchange has a good reputation, lower transaction fees, minimal deposit fees and good user support. Some of the cons are limited payment methods and having a user face that is more difficult to understand and use.

The final of the three that I will talk about is the one I like the most and that is Gemini. Gemini is a fully regulated and licensed exchange meaning that its capital requirements meet that of banks. It has a high level of security and a user friendly design. Some of the disadvantages are that it is not available in some countries and locations, and only offers a limited amount of currencies.

Would say kraken does kind suck as it is always going offline haven't used coinbase or Gemini as the fees are kinda high and not much choice.

I like bitrex as it has everything and works well compared to Kraken although the fees are higher.

Should really try binance as that looks good.

As always don't leave your crypto sitting on the exchange!
