I think the outcome will definitely have an effect on the price - the Mt Gox scam was almost legendary in the history of bitcoin.
But with the coming hardfork on august 1 (huge event in the bitcoin world) the bitcoin price will either rise or fall anyway in the next few days. Nobody quite knows what's going to happen. exciting times.
