CIVIC ICO Nightmare
What a nightmare this ICO has been!
So I got my Position yesterday as soon as the the token sale for CIVIC ICO began in the hope of finally being able to purchase my first ICO token. They gave me a ticket and I was in 3237 position... GREAT! I thought with Vinny Lingham's comments made about a more wide spread availability of his token I stand a good chance of getting some this time.
They had me wait all day only to shut down the sale because of so many delays and the lack of preparation for the high activity expected when an ICO token goes up for Sale.
SO I thought no problem it is going to resume tomorrow at 8pm (UK time).
8pm arrives and here I am excited contemplating whether I should buy 1 ETH worth of CIVIC or shall I push the boat out and buy 2-3 ETH worth as it will be my first ICO and I'd like to make it one to remember. So what happens, theres a 30 minute delay to begin with and then they put a message up stating they will be letting a few customers transactions through to see how the system handles it and then the sale will commence.
3 and a half hours later of nothing happening and my position only decreasing from 3325 to 3112 CIVIC puts a message up stating they HAVE REACHED THE LIMIT OF $33 MILLION and the sale is now closed!!!!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Why does it seem to be almost impossible to get my hands on any of these ICO tokens???
Even the Veritaseum made it almost impossible to buy their tokens, had it not have been for one of the fellow Steemers posts I never would have been able to purchase any, even though i didn't get it at the sale price I thought some would be better than none lol.
Has anyone else had any problems regarding ICO purchases??

Man, I rarely hear good things about participating in ICOs. At best, you buy in and sell when it gets listed because of the whales that will try to profit anyway. So the price usually get a full pump and dump. At worst, you never end up being able to participate in it.
And worse than that, getting caught in the whale splash dump: buying in watching it tumble below ICO price, even.
Sigh.
That actually sounds so true, i've kept my eyes on the hype up of BAT token and literally watched it drop from 30 cents to about 14 cents or so and slowly begin rising again. But i'm beginning to think majority of these ICO's are a waste of time and i should keep my money safe until they prove them selves
