Last week, I had really done some soul searching and I decided to start a new non-profit organization. I am in the process of actually getting it all set up for tax purposes. I'm trying to get a website posted and a Facebook page and all of that important stuff. It is called Crypto4Causes and it's purpose is to tap into the power of Cryptocurrencies and use it to help out local charities in my area.

The way it works is, Crypto4Causes will be taking donations in cryptocurrencies. Any amount of any coin will be happily taken. I will then convert said coins to fiat paying all fees and what not out of pocket, and then I will take the money in person to charities with 501c status who have offices in my local area. At this point, I have wallets set up and the logistics worked out. I have even picked out three charities so far, and I am looking for more. My intention is to get it all posted on a website, with a logo and then just push it a little bit and see how far it goes!

So, imagine my surprise when out of the blue, my father, mother, and little brother decide to go down to Houston, Texas in order to help out with disaster relief! They are putting their time, gas, and resources on the line for the folks down there. I want to help out, too, but there is no way that I can get away and go down there.

I was inspired, so it may be a little ahead of schedule, but I have all the accounting set up and no donations would be lost. So, at the risk of looking unprofessional, I am going to go ahead and post this post and seeing if anyone would be interested in donating some dusty digital coins to help fund local charities. I am excited to get this off the ground. Website coming soon.

There will be links to those nonprofits at the bottom. There will also be links to receiving addresses for most major coins at the bottom, but I can take anything. If you gamers have some DGB, I can take those as well! If you don't see an address for your coin, just send me a message and I will happily take one. I will be glad to provide any accounting information regarding your donations (value at time of conversion, time and date of transfer, etc.)

My original idea was to help local charities and non-profits tap into the massive funding potential of cryptocurrencies. I believe that most people who were early adopters of coins like Bitcoin and Litecoin and Ethereum naturally had a sort of Libertarian stand point and I really believe that they are as passionate about causes as they are serious about their money. Surely no one understands the importance of good and proper funding than they do. My family surprising me with their decision to drop everything and head down there with very little to go on, inspired me to get this out there.
