World Wild West Web: STEEM, SBD & EOS Are All Riding High. EOS ICO receiving $15M per DAY (And there's still 6 months left to go!)

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

As of the time of writing, on Bittrex SBDs are $10.66, STEEM is $2.07 and EOS On Bitfinex is $8.66. An this is arguably just the beginning!

wild west

@dan Larimer is, I think, the main engineering mind behind both Steem and the upcoming Blockchain Operating System 'EOS' - Yet, at least in Britain, few have ever heard his name. Despite Steem being the cryptocurrency/blockchain with the largest number of daily transactions (by far) and the fastest transfer times, with zero transfer fees - the mass media still bangs on about Bitcoin and occasionally Ethereum and even IOTA - but I have yet to hear hardly anything about Steem or EOS.

In fact, I have explained Steem and EOS in depth to some of the 60-70 year old men here and they now know more about the cutting edge of cryptocurrency than the majority of the 'experts' on mass media appear to. lol.

The recent boost in the value of these 3 cryptocurrency tokens is a major sign of what is to come - with purchases in the EOS Initial Coin Offering (ICO) hitting $15M+ per DAY! The relatively high value of Steem and SBDs means that many early adopters of Steemit are now sitting pretty, fairly well off - just from maybe some initial investment or even through nothing more than dedicated blogging on the Steemit platform for a few months.

It appears that once the recent big boost in Bitcoin hit it's own peak, the media frenzy over the topic resulted in more and more people looking into alternative options to Bitcoin and learning that there many - with some of them being key contenders to topple the current leaders, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

There really has never been (in recorded history) an example of so much profit being able to be generated so easily by so many in such a short space of time. This really is a Digital Gold Boom on the World Wild West Web!

What are your thoughts on how to proceed with this? I had been forced to sell quite a lot of Steem since I had run out of money completely - and, predictably, as soon as I did that the prices started soaring. Are you holding your stock, waiting for ever higher prices? Or do you expect the prices to drop again in the coming weeks and intend to sell out as soon as possible?

Interesting times, for sure - maybe some big 'earners' here will step up in the near future to truly create the physical, tropical Steem Island that others allegedly intended to create (taking money in the process and apparently just leaving with it!). Anything can happen and probably will!

Wishing you well,

Once you decide to hodl - you hodl. No matter what , you

just HODL.

To me it works out pretty well , most of the times.

Needles to say, a complete , comprehensive study of the chosen asset has to be done, before you make such a decision.
There is quite a few coins I 've been not touching for years.
2-3 years. Ever FOUR

Yes, I appreciate that - if you have the resources to hold for extended periods then it will typically pay off most of the time. I'm not quite at that point yet, but maybe in the near future I'll have resolved everything I need to resolve in 'real life' - so that I can afford to hodl ;)

this post news are very information of crypto..i think this time from your content to gain knowledge...especially thanks for disscuss about crypto..i appreciate to your concept..carry on your activity..best of luck..✌✌✌👏👏😍😍😍

Would you like a spatula? For your bunghole?

yes... you get to me..😍😍😍😍

Man my bts doubled in a couple days, my XRP tripled in a few days, EOS 10 bagger in a few weeks, XLM near 10 bagger, bch up quite a bit, ethereum up...all holdings of mine as of this month.

I’m going home and buying another couple thousand bts this evening. Idk if I even wanna hold any bitcoin. The alts have more potential for reasons I won’t go into.

My accounts sum has more than doubled this week. And to think this could just be the beginning. In a few years I could walk out of this corporate hell hole and never look back. At least that’s a dream of mine.

Ohh - good work! Sadly, I didn't buy EOS when it was $0.45 - I think because I was short and wanted to wait to see where it went (mistake). I bought it at $3.45 and then sold for a small amount of profit.. lol

Increased freedom through this process is definitely possible - it certainly beats the banks. :)

Yeah, I have major FOMO for not buying when it was that low too. I already had a sizable position in EOS at $1.85 and sold all the way to where we are now. Now I'm empty on EOS. D:

I'm starting to think EOS is going to be the new ETH that I can actually support because the developers aren't communists. Planning on increasing my HODLings of it as soon as I see an opportunity.

Since BTC dominance is down to 53% from about 65%, I see BTC taking off again soon. At least, I'm hoping it does because most of my alts have sold to BTC. The alt market is overheating in my estimation. https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@gmikeyg/bitcoin-dominance-down-to-53-what-happens-next

Right. And with the BTC Foundation. Unless someone can give a technical argument against how the code works (that it is somehow insecure, hackable, manipulate-able, etc) I'm finding that point akin to ad hominem by discussing the messenger rather than the substance of the product.

I TOTALLY get it though. And find myself in the tough spot of choosing between voting with my small, ineffective quantity of money by abstaining from these runs or simply seeing it as an investment without morality involved.

I abstain from ETH because communism and poor tech. EOS is harder to do that with.

The tech is solid from what I can see - it's just frustrating for me to think that I put a lot of effort into creating new realities that DON'T involve abusers and heartless manipulators controlling those involved and yet somehow those who appear to be exactly that still 'rise to the top'.

An Ad hominem typically involves attacking a person rather than addressing the issues involved - in this case, the person and his possible agenda and ethical decisions are part of the issue involved since he potentially can direct the project to some extent. I am still investing in EOS - but remain vigilant.

I actually don't have as much EOS as I meant to accumulate. I wanted a couple thousand but I have less then half that. It's a pretty decent amount--don't get me wrong. But I thought it would keep dropping a little more until at least early spring. I bought some in the $2's early on then 1.80 then 1.35 and so on. I made 3 more buys all under a dollar and the last was below $0.60. When it started to rally I kept waiting for a pullback but that didn't really happen much. I bought a few more just under $7 and I think that's gonna be all unless it drops significantly. I can't bring myself to pay $1,000 for 100 of something that I paid $60 not too long ago lol.

To be honest, I have no idea what to/how to deal with the 'reward' part of this platform. I figure it will evolve as I post my heart and it will be revealed as I go along. Sounds like that may be a good thing for me in the Steem part in the long run, but it feels very healthy to write/share for me in the short term right now (even if no one sees much of it, LOL!!) Peace and Love to ALL <3

I wrote about 100 posts initially and received next to nothing from them - there are specific things that needs to be understood about the way the site works if you want to get views and upvotes. A certain amount of networking is necessary, making friends with people and sharing/connecting - otherwise your posts will just be lost in the endless sea of new posts that are made here constantly!

I think that with all our (experienced cryptonauts) knowledge in blockchain technology, we tend to overlook what matters to the newcomers - ease of access. The recent growth in Litecoin and Ethereum is easily explained by coinbase being the nr.1 app in the US at the moment. Wait till they learn about bittrex.

I have also learned to only invest in long term projects I really believe in; these are the bags I want to hold even when they drop hard. I was rewarded for this strategy with the recent EOS pump, and as always, people start talking about a particular coin when the FOMO hits, every damn time :D

Hehe - yes, i agree. The fact that Facebook and many other mega corporations continue to dominate despite their significant failings is evidence that accessibility and market profile are key.

The failings are only noticed by those who are attentive and not satisfied with a culture of manipulation and servitude.

I have small holdings in both EOS and BTS. The question is: will they conflict long term? See https://steemit.com/bitshares/@slavix/should-bitshares-adopt-eos-blockchain I guess I am concerned about investing too much in BTS if EOS has an adverse effect. Anyway, there are plenty of alternatives to consider; for example Cardano (ADA).

I'd like to know more about the price of SBD - the exchange I normally use (Coinspot) only has STEEM. And I only have been receiving SBD from my efforts here on Steemit.

IS SBD a separate coin?

If you go to your wallet page and click the menu next to sbd you can go to the market and buy steem with sbd.

Sbd are a different coin that is meant to track the US dollar. Right now it has gone really high but it is designed to come back down. So if you have any sbd, buy steem with it as soon as you can!

SBD is intended to be a reliable store of value that means it can be used for money exchange in every day life. It hasn't taken off as that though and since it's value is now much higher than 1USD it has lost it's attraction as being that 'reliable'. As @littlejoeward stated, it is probably a good idea to sell your SBDs now as they are way higher than they are meant to be and are likely to drop back to 1USD at some point.

i am new here and reading this made me feel like i am about to be part of something big , thank you for the awesome post man

I am a newbie to all this crypto stuff but learning daily. I have never heard of EOS. Of course I am all in on Steem and have invested in a couple small coins. Still learning about others.

My latest post is about my current cryptocurrency portfolio if you want to hear about more coins.
