The Real Genius here is this: Abra doesn't play custodian over your account. Meaning you can have an account that can exchange and or accept all sorts of FIAT currencies....and or get 'exposure' to a bunch of different crypto's.
What "exposure" means is this. You can 'technically' take positions in about 20 different crypto's...and the value of the crypto will be reflected in either USD or BTC. Whenever you want to close a position...cash out...exchange...This is always done in either Bitcoin or Fiat. There's a number of different locations where you can cash out into fiat. Or if you want to do the KYC stuff...you can have it plugged into a us or philiipino bank.
Litecoin is poised to be used more often for settlements. Right now it's been bitcoin as the barometer of measurement....but sooon it's expected that litecoin will be increasingly used for settlement as it's got almost the same security as bitcoin with cheaper fees and faster settlement.

Abra might become the first bitcoin wallet to get a mainstream userbase owing to its unique design as it manages to avoid various regulatory issues of transferring money cross-borders by being a simple and straightforward technology to use. Why should we go to the banks, fill a number of forms, provide ID proof and a ton of other details to send money to a relative overseas? An app like this needs to go mainstream to solve various challenges in crypto adoption rate and mainstream use🙂
