Excellent post @cryptogee. I am extremely interested in Artificial Intelligence. One thing that I would say is that while a computer may be able to sift through information at lightning it can't interperet it in the same way that a human can.

Humans have a deep level of understanding of the world, which is what we can't give to AI yet as we do not know how to. While AI may take over primarily logic based tasks (Driving etc.), it will be a long time before AI is used for more than analysing data - which is hugely important and impressive!
