Blockchain platform Steemit reaches 1 Million users

Steemit, a blockchain based Blogging social networking platform reached 1 million users two years after launching. Steemit is similar to Reddit in may ways, but unlike reddit the upvotes hare are actually worth something. Content creators are rewarded with Steem Dollars, a cryptocurrency which has a monetary value to it.

Initially named as Steem, the company rebranded itself with a modern design and the name ’Steemit’. The platform has been receiving a lot of attention lately. Popular tech publication Engadget started re-publishing their articles on Steemit early this year to increase their audience and also revenue since the platform rewards content creators directly.
