Fiesta la tirana

The Fiesta de La Tirana is one of Chile's most iconic religious and cultural celebrations, held annually in the town of La Tirana, in the Tarapacá Region, near Iquique.

Its peak is July 16, the Day of the Virgin of Carmen, although the celebrations extend for several days around that date (usually from July 11 to 17). It is famous for its colorful and multitudinous religious dances. Thousands of "dancers" organized into brotherhoods (such as Diabladas, Morenadas, Caporales, Gitanos, among others).
