Cracking the Millions...

Is anyone still trying to reach high scores in the Survivor Arena?! I have to admit, hunting zombies in space without real challengers is only half as fun... 😜
Nah, sorry - I couldn’t resist a little joke.
At the same time, I can reassure all my followers who were worried about me: my Arena addiction is under control - one match a day (oops, sometimes none at all) is enough for me. These days I usually reach 900k+ points in a run.
After thoroughly exploring all the portal-accessible worlds (I really like the ice world - the slipping and freezing are funny features) and all the weapons (all hail the Soul Train, a very cool idea), I developed a high-score strategy I don’t want to keep from you:
- I play with the Void Walker, a pretty strong all-rounder. It costs 300 coins once; after purchasing, you can always select it as your character.
- I choose machine gun and laser. If I’m lucky enough to be offered the shotgun before I “have to” upgrade the pistol, I take the shotgun as well. If in the Void Abyss I’m only offered other weapons, I upgrade the pistol instead.
- I enter every portal, but stay in the original world until the Flame Inferno opens. Then I go in - ideally with an empty weapon slot, though Mr. Luck doesn’t always allow that. If my slots are full, I swap out the pistol for an empty slot. If the pistol is already upgraded, I swap “the fourth weapon” (never the machine gun or laser, of course).
- In the Inferno, I wait for the flamethrower.
- Machine gun and flamethrower - and ideally the laser, too - must be upgraded to legendary.
- I take every power upgrade and every health upgrade (SP, speed, etc. don’t matter much), if necessary, the laser can stay at medium strength.
- I try to get back to the Void World. That doesn’t always work, but no problem: with legendary weapons, only the boss’s fire bombs are really dangerous in the Inferno. Beware - they’re well hidden...
- From then on, I only focus on health pickups and the Void boss’s sparks. Lots of zigzagging, but it’s doable.
- When I’m feeling brave, from level 19 onward I don’t destroy the boss immediately. I leave it with a tiny bit of health until the second boss appears (ouch, once I’ve even fought three at once...). While carefully watching the second boss, I finish off the first and then use the super weapon to deal heavy damage to the second.
- Don’t be afraid of stress and make sure you have a bit more than 30 minutes for a match...
Did I forget anything? Just ask! I’ve got no secrets and I need some serious challengers again before it gets boring “up there”... 😉
Sigh, it’s always the same everywhere: being at the top is a hard job... 🤪
With a wink (meaning: don’t take me too seriously) and a warm smile, I wish everyone some fun gaming sessions.
And above all:
Happy Easter!
