How To Make Naan Bread Recipe
With this homemade naan bread recipe, you can make your own Indian naan at home. These butter naans are perfect as an accompaniment alongside your favourite curry. This recipe gives you perfect plain naans that can also be flavoured with garlic and coriander if desired. Serve fresh off the stove and enjoy!
Ingredients:
300g Self Raising Flour
1 Egg
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Yeast
2 tbsp Milk
1 tbsp Oil
100ml Warm Water
Method:
- In a large bowl, combine the self-raising flour, egg, sugar, salt, oil, milk, yeast and water
- Combine ingredients together to form a firm dough – add more water if required
- Oil the bowl and leave the dough to set and rise for at least half an hour
- Create small balls with the dough and then roll out
- Add water on one side of the naan bread
- Cook on a pan for a few minutes until a few bubbles form
- Flip the pan and cook the naan for a few more minutes until the naan bread is browned
- Add butter and garlic or coriander if desired
- Serve immediately and enjoy with your favourite kebab or curry!
