Application For The Role of Community Curator September 2022

From the next month we'll see end to the existing curator teams. We witnessed a few teams working in their themes for the past 6 months continuously and we saw teams getting changed per month. Overall it was a good experience.

But, one might ask, why is the Steemit team disbanding the previous method of curation and coming up with this? As someone, who was in charge of a curation team, I can tell you this with my personal experience that a lot of abuse has been going on this platform, especially, account farming. A lot of users have made fake accounts, with random people's pictures in the achievement 1 posts and then using those accounts to accumulate votes and money.

It gets hard to catch them but with the combined work of the country representatives all over the world, it gets a bit easier to catch these account farmers. Apart from that, one more thing associated with the prevailing curation team was the biasness in some of them. A lot of users were nominated week in week out. Some teams have been nominating their friends and family in hopes of accumulating more and more rewards.

With the introduction of individual applications, it would be a good start to eradicate the existing lobby of users and intermingling them with other new users. Ofcourse, fighting against abuse on this platform is a constant job and steps like these help a lot.

Keeping all of this in mind, I feel really proud of my team with whom I have been curating for the past two months. We were all extremely professional and did our work with absolute integrity. It was a good experience to know these people from all around the world and working with them.

I'd, now, like to formally present my application for the role of a curator for the month of September.

A brief Summary of your history on Steem

I joined Steemit on 9th April 2021. It is almost 1.5 years of my journey and it has been a very good one. I joined Steemit as a blogger, who was introduced to this platform by his cousin. I didn't know anything about cryptocurrency, Steemit, the Communites here or anything in general.

I took baby steps to pave my way to the top. Joined the crypto academy in my initial days and was consistently one of the top students there for 5-6 months. That is where I learned and excelled in the Crypto world.

It has only been an year but I have learned and a achieved a lot in it. From being the very first Promotor of club5050 in my country to becoming the first 6x Dolphin.

I have met a lot of amazing people on this platform in this short period of time and I look forward to meeting a lot more.

Details of any positions of responsibility you have held on Steem

I was nominated as the Best Author of 2021 on Steemit and honestly I wear this crown with absolute pride. It has a huge status in my life and I feel good whenever it crosses my mind. Ofcourse it wasn't easy to become the best author. It took months of determination, hard work, hugh quality posts and engagement on this platform.

Secondly, I am a Country Representative Pakistan, which is a huge responsibility on my shoulders and I am executing it with the best of my personal capabilities. I was only recently chosen as the country representative of Pakistan and hopefully I'll be able to do justice with this role.

Thirdly, I am currently leading the Team Cosmopolitan* with an exceptionally well organized team and a group of individuals who're solely working towards steem growth. We have a week left of curation.

Lastly, I am leading World Smile Pakistan through which we intend on helping the less privileged people of our country. I know it has been inactive for a while, but I intend to revive it and continue with the role.

Details of specialist or professional skills or expertise you have in ‘real life’.

I am currently an aspiring dentist and a businessman who deals with a lot of customers on daily basis. Working as a dentist in a government hospital has taught me a lot of patience and a lot of real life exposure. If I want to explain in brief about my work, I am a healthcare worker who goes to the hospital every day with only a single aim in mind and that is; ease the pain of all the patients.

Apart from that, I am a businessman who sells honey all over the country. I have a wide connection now, with vendors and customers all over Pakistan. I have also, currently, started to learn programming and coding as I believe it's never too late to learn a new skill. I am trying to stay committed to it.

What country you live in and what languages you can read fluently.

I live in Pakistan and speak fluent Urdu. I know there's always room for improvement but I remember taking my Olevels Urdu exam and acing it hahaha. So I speak Urdu as it is my mother tongue as well.

Usually, I converse in English. After the British Colonization in the Subcontinent, almost 90% of the schools have adapted English as their official language. So I have a good command on English language and I prefer to speak and write in English.

Apart from that, I speak German. How? I took courses of German from the Only Certified German language institution in Pakistan, ie, Goethe. I have done professional course from this institute.

Any subjects you particularly enjoy curating

Ah yes. As a person who loves sports, I'm particularly interested in the sports category. Apart from that, with my current experience of curating the #steemgrowth tag, I have developed a good understanding of this theme and wouldn't mind curating it as well.

Healthcare is what comes naturally to me. With my whole family of doctors, it's all we talk about in our family. So, these are the few things I enjoy reading.

The minimum team size you would be willing to serve in (1 - 7).

Team work makes the dream work. A good, professional team helps you in doing your work in a much more efficient way saving a lot of your time.

For me, I think an optimum team should have 5 members. Less than that would be too less and more than that might create some unwanted hassle. So I think I'll be very comfortable in working with a team of 5 members. Though, I am currently working with 6 other people and it has been a good experience so far.
