Curie Weekly Update (3rd Oct - 9th Oct 2016)
In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.
- For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in https://steemit.chat/channel/curie
- Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. This week we added a @curie Curation Trail to Streemian. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors.
- We would like to thank @fairytalelife and @ericvancewalton for their donation, along with the initiation of the "Collaborations for Curie" movement in their first collaborative piece. We would also like to thank @ballinconscious for their donation.
- Remember to follow and interact with authors that you love whenever going through The Daily Curie.
News
- Check out the announcement for Steem Guild.
- We are considering to use @curie to comment on every posts that is selected and up-voted by our initiative. The aim is to bring awareness of Steemit's many communities, and help new accounts to connect the dots. Do you have any good ideas on the best templates to use for outreach? Please comment below.
Weekly Statistics
Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 760 posts at an average of 108 posts per day. This is pretty much flat week-over-week.
A total of 485 unique authors were rewarded. We saw a rise in voted unique authors in the previous week due to process changes for better outreach. However it has also pretty much flattened out in this week's report. Still covering over 25% of actively engaged users on Steemit, we are preparing to curate deeper into the frontiers of fresh, new accounts.
SBD 24,147 was generated at an average of SBD 32 per post. This is about 20-25% decline in average rewards compared to the previous week. This is largely due to the falling price feed of Steem from witnesses. However, the good news is that SBDs are expected to approach the USD parity.
Authors
The Top 10 Authors by payouts last week were -
- @techslut
- @rockyromano
- @cryptos
- @sykochica
- @whatsup
- @katharsisdrill
- @jg02
- @decimus
- @iamwne
- @mikkolyytinen
This is a completely fresh list with no repeats from previous weeks! Some of the top authors from last week have found an audience beyond Curie, with a good number entering into Steem Guild's support list.
#curie @ https://steemit.chat/channel/curie
We upvoted 138 posts submitted by curators in #curie, with SBD 175 paid out to curators, and SBD 305 pending to be cleared soon. Due to tighter guidelines, this represents a decline w/w.
@fubar-bdhr retains their crown as the top curator on Curie for the 3rd week. Who is this mysterious bounty hunter? Top curie finders remain the same this week. Clearly these folks have already nailed down the art of the Curie. However, there are plans in the near future to shake things up a little.
Daily Statistics
The average posts curated has decreased to about 105 posts per day. This is at the upper limit of our current operational capacity, with a slow weekend to boot.
The number of unique authors rewarded is tracking very closely with the total posts - fulfilling our goal of reaching out to as many authors as possible. Daily SBD generated has been constant in the SBD 3,000 - 4,200 range. This number is closely related to the value of Steem and witness price feeds.
For all metrics, a rather slow weekend is reflected at the beginning, with a rather busier weekend compared to the previous weekend statistics.

Superb @curie as always, and I am confident that this project will grow more and more witch is awesome!
I'm new to steemit so maybe I don't get it, but I just read this post and it does seem like there are strange inconsistencies:
https://steemit.com/curie/@cyniclinic/can-someone-please-explain-what-s-going-on-here
I don't know if anyone from the curie team has seen it, but I'm curious about the choice too. I understand that curie isn't obligated to explain their selection process, but it seems like other people are interested too. Plus it would also demonstrate "the spirit of Curie's transparency".
I liked your article. Helps you like mine ♥ @siams
Thank you!
Love what you guys are doing and inspiring in others. Keep it up.
This is really a fantastic work by team curie, rewarding and encouraging new authors to write more. Getting rewards and followers without team curie was not possible. I thank team curie for what they are doing. Keep it up.
Awesome!
