Traditional Daal (Lentil Curry) | A Taste of South Asia
Hello friends!
I hope you’re all doing well.
Today, I’m going to share my first cooking recipe on my blog with all of you.
I hope you’ll love this recipe!
The name of this dish is Daal (Lentil Curry).
It is a popular dish in Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and other South Asian countries.
Today, I made it at home myself, and I’ll explain each step to you in detail.
🌿 Ingredients:
- ¼ kg Moong Dal (split mung beans)
- ⅛ kg Masoor Dal (red lentils)
- ½ cup cooking oil
- Garlic
- White cumin seeds (Jeera)
- Turmeric powder
- Salt
- Crushed red chili
- Green chili
- 3 cups of water
🍳 Method:
Heat cooking oil in a pot and add crushed garlic, green chili, and cumin seeds. Fry them lightly.
Add the soaked lentils (Daal) and sauté well.
Pour in warm water and cook on low heat for about 45 minutes.
Once the lentils are fully cooked, sprinkle some chopped coriander on top and serve.
🍛 Serving Suggestion:
This Daal (Lentil Curry) tastes amazing when served warm with chapati, tandoori naan, or boiled rice.
