It is so important to make sure that these recognitions are balanced and that they don't go too overboard. It is funny that you mention the graduation parties. As a grade 8 teacher, we have a graduation every year for our leaving students going to high school. It is wild to see how overboard some of the families go. This year we had a student come to grade in a $500 dress. I couldn't believe it. What on earth are they going to wear to prom??
