The Garden
Return to the garden ...
I had not thought about my garden for a while.
2017 has been a stressful year: I do not know why, but everything was difficult for me to complete and the blog has suffered a lot from my general tiredness.
Now, however, February has arrived and every year in this cold and gray month, by contrast, my desire for gardening awakens overwhelmingly. I am sure that it is not only for me, but also for many of those who like to grow plants with their own hands: it will be because the first leaves begin to emerge from the ground, there are plants to prune or thin, others to be inserted. .. In fact, although it is still full of winter, it is perhaps this the most interesting time of year to think and start work in the garden: I am, therefore, attracted by my little corner of greenery and with a renewed desire for to write.
My little garden yesterday, in its spooky winter version
The "giardinite" suddenly struck me last afternoon, when I came back from work. The wind blew out at a million kilometers per hour (yes, I like hyperbole!) And it also started to drizzle. The elements suggested sheltering me in a hurry but, as I was coming out of the car and my hair was shaking in the air giving me a charming Medusa look, in my mind this question was asked: "But those dry means daffodils I planted the last year ( link ) what happened to them? ". These are fundamental questions to which obviously a "gardener" can not help but respond immediately.
The daffodils I bought last April
So I faced the storm and I started looking for signs of life of the daffodils, which fortunately I have not struggled too much to identify. My hair will also have become irretrievably frizzy, but I can proudly state that narcissuses are popping up in large numbers. I had little hope as I had planted them in an absolutely wrong period (late April), but I was lucky. Now I just have to wait to see if once they bloom they will do the wild effect I wanted!
Group of new daffodils
When I'm waiting to see for the first time if a new plant has had a good success I become overactive, I want to do a lot of chores. Here I am, therefore, to stamp the foot on the ground, already ready to wield the scissors and to put on the reinforced gloves and the rubber boots.
As soon as the weather has stabilized I can roses and bushes, will stray for the thousandth time the Stachys (you see very well in the first picture as overflowing from his flower bed), I buy some perennial and maybe I will remove the whim of a particular rose or hydrangea .
I want to be more laborious and constant in the garden: even the passions must be cultivated: will I manage this year not to be overwhelmed by events?
