4/16 On April 19, 1775, Paul Revere road at midnight with Samuel Prescott to warn the Minute Men in Lexington of the arrival of hundreds of British soldiers approaching from Boston to seize the arsenal in Concord, Massachusetts. While Paul Revere was detained by the British before reaching Lexington when the riders were stopped and questioned, Samuel Prescott was able to make it to Lexington to warn John Hancock and Samuel Adams of the approaching British army .
The revolutionary militia, known as the Minute Men, were able to rally in time to confront the British at the North Bridge in Concord, and prevent them from seizing the militia's essential armory. The skirmish ended with several British soldiers killed and the British army retreating back to Boston. This battle sparked the beginning of the American Revolution. The Siege of Boston was soon to follow with legendary battles ensuing on Bunker Hill.
Patriot's Day is now celebrated every year in Boston, Massachusetts and several other of the United States! The Boston Marathon, which celebrates this holiday celebrating the American Revolution, has been run on Patriot's Day every year since 1897!

Unfair taxation by the British sparked the American Revolution. Unfortunately, the American Republic is still sending trillions of American taxpayer's money to the Crown to this day:

Thanks so much for posting the Schoolhouse Rock videos. They hold SUCH a precious spot in my heart. While Southpark does a great job opening your eyes to a great deal of nonsense in our world, there is nothing that has ever come close to replacing Schoolhouse Rock. I hope someone will do a modern reprise - although maybe not too modern - as we enter our rebirth period. At almost 50 years old, that I can still sing along with all those videos is a testament to their effectiveness and charm. Happy Patriots Day! Thank you for all you do.
