Ostracism and the Left - Kaos1973

Ostracism - The shutting out of people, businesses, behaviour, goods or services to show displeasure. It costs us nothing but a little thought power. It hurts our target because of the social stigma or 'shame' of being singled out because we are social creatures that need to belong to a tribe.

Before the welfare state people who did the wrong thing were ostracised or shamed and expelled by their communities for doing the wrong thing. Now we must perpetuate the lies of victim-hood to justify the massive, massive forced redistribution of wealth, so that when people do something wrong somehow it is magically not their fault and/or punishing them with isolation or public denouncement is somehow evil.

Imagine a society where ostracism was still in place: If a criminal is on welfare and does something wrong. Their welfare is reduced, their name and photo would be placed on posters around town. People would shun them socially. Imagine that the perpetrator of unacceptable behaviour was made to feel unwelcome in the community until such time as they can demonstrate they are willing to play nicely with everyone else? Imagine if welfare was only paid to those that deserved it and that being on it was seen as despicable and family and friends would rather help you out than see the negative consequences of ostracism occur to you and by extension them.

Imagine the cost benefit of a system like that. How much money would be saved. How much government interference could be done away with?

The left is adamantly against ostracism because the left believes in bigger and bigger government. Ostracism allows citizens to deal with the problems and not the government. If citizens can solve their own problems why do they NEED such a big government. It's dangerous ground for the leftist agenda.
