This is my Dark Souls 3 piano cover! Enjoy.
Dark Souls is my most favourite video game franchise (I've got all achievements in DS 1 & 2, didn't have time for that in DS3 because of the piano...), I decided to put everything into this cover I had :D
Now on the cover itself: I wrote it a few months ago, when I had holidays... It took forever, I'm not gonna put that much work into a cover again! :D
The problem about the sheets is, that I wrote them only at my computer and away from the piano, which is why it's over the top and written without any kind of feelings or intuition. I will try to change that in the future.
However, it has some good parts. I went on putting a lot of original thins into the cover. I'm proud of some ideas I had for it. For example the build up to the first chorus from 2:09 to 2:37. It's usually not like this in the original, it's way quieter, but that way I can reference to the first chorus in the last chorus. :)
My best idea for this cover in my opinion though, was to use the Namless Song, which is the Credit's Song from Dark Souls 1, as a transition from Ab minor back to C minor at 4:48. In the original that part doesn't exist and the transition is just silence.
But in gerneral, the chords are too simple and not really appealing, the rythm is not intresting at all and it's over the top and not that well performed... But I might redo this cover in a few years when I'm great at arranging!
My performance is not the best, I know, but considering this cover is 7 minutes long, I think it's okay.
Even more so considering that I've only been playing for 3 years now :D
Since this is still the start of my channel, I experimented with mics and camera a lot again... I think I'm going to position everything completely different the next time :'D
Anyways, this cover is dedicated to all of my subscribers! Thank you again! :)
I'm aware, that a lot of my subs are either inactive, people who are subbed because they know me in real life or other pianists on YouTube who want to see what their rivals are doing... But still, there are a lot of awesome people subbed to me:
My parents, my brother and sister, my awesome piano teacher and a lot of her pupils (who she forced to subscribe, because she's so proud of me xD), a few real life friends and a lot of really awesome pianists! Bummel, Splimmie, Lucas Gottfried, Der Klaviertypsie, NeosTest, SantiagoAPiano, OrangeWaffle the list goes on forever! :D
Regarding people, who are subscribed, because they like my content, I only know of Elmohead (who also recommended a Dark Souls cover)... So a lot of thanks to you buddy! :D
Those people I want to thank very much, because they keep inspiring me! :)
I hope I will be able to do this YouTube-thing for a long time, I'm eager to improve myself! I didn't have much time to practice this, because there's a lot of other (classical) pieces I have to and want to practice.
But see you on the next arrangement, it's going the be the first request I received ever, it'll probably less than two minutes :D
Thanks for listening! \ [T] /
