Darth Vader, Capricorn Avatar
House of Capricorn. Recognizing the astrology of fictional characters is a science and an art. Sometimes we are aware of the actual date of their birth as we do with Mickey Mouse {11/28], but most of the time we can cull the astrological influence by studying the characters and their tendencies. Darth Vader, for example, is clearly an avatar of Capricorn - a highly emotional being existing beneath a mask of icy ambition. His love affairs are tragic (another Cap trait) and his work became his entire raison d'etre. Even his extraordinary gifts and proficiency in the Jedi arts typify the hard-working Goatfish. His struggle and embrace of his darkside is also a particularly Capricorn struggle - as fellow Caps Tiger Woods and Mel Gibson have shown us recently. A final clue of his Capricorn nature can be found in his rather Goth attire - something he and quite a few Caps - David Bowie, Marilyn Manson included - have in common. His redemption at the end of the Star Wars saga speaks to the challenge all evolved Capricorns must face: removing the mask, learning to sacrifice ambition for love.
