Coinbase Trading with your Fiat?

So I have been using coinbase for a few weeks and I linked it with my Fidelity brokerage account so that I can make ACH transfers.

I figured that since Fidelity and coinbase has a working relation and are integrated my transfers would be quick and secure. That was not the case!

It takes up to 7 days for transfers between accounts. Bank transfers are settled in 3 days so I am wondering what coinbase is doing with my money the other 4 days?
