Oh death!..! Where is thy sting??..

Oh death!..! With thy cold and treacherous hands
Thou taketh but never giveth.
In thy possession, is found love, hate, treasures and wickedness of this transient world
Death!..! Oh death!..! Where is thy sting??..

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When thou call'st to embark;
And thine sting to bear.
Death!..! Oh death!..! Where is thy sting??..

Oh death!..! Thy pains cometh without mercy
Thy wrath and fury pierceth through the heart and soul without remorse
Like a thief, thou appeareth in the night and knocketh at the door as though invited, waiting so patiently for whom to devour.
Death!..! Oh death!..! Where is thy sting??..

Thou art a friend to no one but a foe to all
In thee, no solace is found rather than eternal cold rest and grasp
Like a flash, thy wind cometh in a hurry and swiftly, it blows away happiness, instilling sorrows and sadness to thy victim.
Death!..! Oh death!..! Where is thy sting??..

Oh death!..! Thou neither sleeps nor rest
Like the gentle autumn rain,
Thou awakens in the morning's hush
And like the swift uplifting rush
Of the quiet birds in encircled light
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
Whilst thine sting still remaineth
Death!..! Oh death!..! Where is thy sting??..
