Drawing and Poetry: TORMENTED EYE💔

This is my 2nd post here. I hope you'd take time to read this and please do enjoy😇🙏

"The smiles can be faked but the eyes will always tell the truth" - me.

I have always believed that our eyes are the windows of our soul. Even if we fake a laugh and a smile, our eyes will forever be honest in telling the people who care for us about what we really feel inside.

There will be one day that we will have enough of all the problems that came to us and can't wait to burst it all out to ease the pain that we have kept within ourselves for a very long time. But that's LIFE. it's either you choose to get up and try again or remain in the ground forever.

I made a poem that talks about a girl suffering from depression and choose to end her life to free herself from her sufferings.

SET ME FREE

What if I woke up being alone?
Hiding in the dark with shivery bones.
Oblivious they are for they cannot see
The monster inside that lurks deep within me.

Eyes are wandering to seek for light
But the cold darkness seemed to hindered my sight
Fear from falling to the depths of pitch black
For I do not know if I'll ever come back

I see a light at the end of this walk
A shiny blade that seemed to have talked
"Cut thee and happiness will begin."
Desperate, I slashed it through my skin.

Blood is the key for this excruciating pain
But slowly, my colors started to drain
Knees wobbled and fell unto the ground
I saw the moon that left me unsound.

At last! I saw the light that I long to seek
Tears came rushing through my pale cheek
To the monster that lurks deep within me
Thank you for finally setting me free.

Never let your own devil (depression) control you, you are more powerful than you think, you are far more superior. Even if the world is against you, always remember that there is someone who is always there for you. Even if you feel useless, remember that you are loved.

Now, here is a step-by-step process of my TORMENTED EYE drawing👀

1. Prepare the materials.

I used a pencil, eraser, spreader and a bondpaper for this drawing.

2. Light sketching of the eye.

I used the pencil for sketching the eye that will serve as my guide when I do the specific details later on.

3. Details of the center of the eye.

I added the details of the center eye because it is very important, it holds the emotions that the eye wants to express.

Then, I darken the lines to emphasize the eye itself.

4. Details on the reflection.

I added the reflection of the eyelashes to the center eye so that it will be more realistic to see.

5. Drawing the eyelid.

The eyelid is also important to draw for it will also depict what the eye wants to say and I used the spreader to make a dark shadow in the lower part of the eyelid.

6. Drawing the long eyelashes.

I added long lashes because my subject is a girl (I hoped you noticed it earlier).

So here we have it friends, our final output of the TORMENTED EYE drawing 👀

For me, depression is like a disease that has to cured by the victim himself/herself and with the help of the people around them. Always be aware of the people around you. Even the happiest person that you know may also be the saddest person when he/she is alone. So never hesitate to reach out, a simple " ARE YOU OKAY?" would be a great help to them😇
