Über’s Wochenende waren wir 'mal wieder ein paar Tage unterwegs: eine Freundin in ihrem tiefen, dunklen Wald besuchen. Das konnten wir gut verbinden mit einem Termin in deren nicht allzu naher Umgebung – wir hatten in der Gegend zwischen Teterow und Waren zu tun. Die Absicht war, viel Geld auszugeben: worum es genau ging, werdet Ihr in wenigen Wochen erfahren ;-))

Da wir Fotos von @moecki’s Gartenhäuschen kennen, haben wir übrigens versucht, ihn dort flugs zu lokalisieren ;-)) Wir wissen aber immer noch nicht, wo sein Haus wohnt ;-)))

Okay. Wir hatten also abenteuerliche Offroad-Fahrten – der Waldweg zu unserer Freundin war noch halb gefroren, halb angetaut und ein schartiger, glibberiger Rutschparcour, den DHL, Hermes & Co. seit Wochen erfolgreich zu fahren verweigern. Müllabfuhr kommt dort ohnehin nicht vorbei. Der Pflegedienst würfelt jeden Tag neu, ob jemand kommt und wer in den sauren Apfel beißen muß…

Aus meiner Sicht ist die Zufahrt derzeit möglich, erfordert aber ein Auto mit viel Bodenfreiheit, idealerweise Allradantrieb, höchste Aufmerksamkeit und gute Fähigkeiten am Steuer. @jkiw – dort wäre dann übrigens Dein nächster Einsatz, wenn Du bei uns entweder alles geschafft hast oder uns gar nicht mehr ertragen kannst ;-)) Idyllisch mitten im Wald, am See, einsam und abgeschieden. Nur halt bissel schwierig erreichbar. Im Sommer hat man natürlich nicht mit Eisglätte und Spurrillen zu kämpfen, sondern wahlweise mit tiefem Sand, in dem Du Dich festfährst oder dickem Schlamm, aus dem Du nicht wieder heraus kommst ;-))

Unser Besuch dort war jedenfalls mal wieder überfällig und die Verbindung mit dem Beratungstermin am Montag bot sich geradezu an. Außerdem war es die letzte Gelegenheit, mit Dogo Argentino Hündin Heather gemeinsam zu verreisen: sie macht das nämlich super gerne und ganz souverän entspannt. Am kommenden Sonntag wird ihre Halterin sie planmäßig wieder abholen, nachdem sie ihr Auslandssemester erfolgreich beenden konnte. Ich bin ein wenig traurig. Freue mich natürlich dennoch auf die nächsten Hunde, die bei uns einziehen werden… Katze Krötli feiert dagegen bereits den Auszug der großen weißen Dame ;-)) Bis dahin genießt diese noch den aktuell allgegenwärtigen Heilschlamm ;-)))

Während wir einfach nur das Ende der sehr kalten Tage abgewartet haben, kämpfte sich @panafricana-sam durch die indonesischen Inseln. Seine Begeisterung schwankte; es gab sehr viele unterschiedliche und widersprüchliche Eindrücke für ihn. Unter’m Strich war er froh, das Land Richtung Timor Leste / Osttimor zu verlassen. Dort fand er ein ausnehmend schönes und gastfreundliches Land vor, in dem er die letzten Tage vor seinem Abflug nach Australien verbrachte. Das Fahrrad wurde wieder komplett hergerichtet, nachdem ihm einige Tage zuvor der Lenker gebrochen war.

Letzte Nacht sollte er nun in Darwin / Australien gelandet sein. Noch habe ich keine neuen Infos, aber ich hoffe, alles verlief nach Plan. Ihm verbleiben dann noch 5.600 Kilometer quer über den Kontinent, meiner Schätzung nach die schwierigste und forderndste Strecke seines Lebens.

Unser neuer Haushalts-Liebling, der Dampfgarer, durfte sich auch wieder beweisen: Marokkanisches Gemüse-Couscous kann er definitv prima!

Und dann ist da noch dieses Schild, auf das wir an einem Findling in der Umgebung unseres Örtchens stießen… Seitdem rattern unsere kleinen grauen Zellen ;-))

Over the weekend, we were on the road again for a few days: visiting a friend in her deep, dark forest. We were able to combine this nicely with an appointment in their not-too-close vicinity – we had business in the area between Teterow and Waren. The intention was to spend a lot of money: you'll find out exactly what it was about in a few weeks ;-))

Since we know photos of @moecki's garden shed, we tried to locate him there quickly ;-)) But we still don't know where his house lives ;-)))

Okay. So we had some adventurous off-road drives – the forest path to our friend's house was still half frozen, half thawed and a jagged, slippery obstacle course that DHL, Hermes & Co. have been successfully refusing to drive on for weeks. The rubbish collection doesn't come there anyway. The care service rolls the dice every day to see if someone will come and who will have to bite the bullet...

From my point of view, access is currently possible, but requires a car with a lot of ground clearance, ideally four-wheel drive, the utmost attention and good driving skills. @jkiw – that would be your next assignment, by the way, if you've either done everything you can do here or can't stand us anymore ;-)) Idyllic in the middle of the forest, by the lake, lonely and secluded. Just a bit difficult to reach. In summer, of course, you don't have to contend with icy roads and ruts, but instead with deep sand that you get stuck in or thick mud that you can't pass. ;-))

In any case, our visit there was long overdue, and the consultation appointment on Monday provided the perfect opportunity. It was also the last chance to travel with Dogo Argentino bitch Heather: she loves doing that and is completely relaxed and confident. Her owner is scheduled to pick her up again this coming Sunday after successfully completing her semester abroad. I'm a little sad. Of course, I'm still looking forward to the next dogs that will be moving in with us... Cat Krötli, on the other hand, is already celebrating the departure of the big white lady ;-)) Until then, Heather is still enjoying the currently ubiquitous healing mud ;-)))

While we were just waiting for the end of the very cold days, @panafricana-sam fought his way through the Indonesian islands. His enthusiasm fluctuated; he had many different and contradictory impressions. All in all, he was glad to leave the country and head for Timor Leste / East Timor. There he found an exceptionally beautiful and hospitable country, where he spent the last few days before his departure for Australia. His bicycle was completely repaired after the handlebars broke a few days earlier.

He should have arrived in Darwin, Australia, last night. I don't have any new information yet, but I hope everything went according to plan. He still has 5,600 kilometres to go across the continent, which I estimate to be the most difficult part of his journey.

Our new household favourite, the steam cooker, had another chance to prove itself: it definitely excels at making Moroccan vegetable couscous!

And then there's this sign that we came across on a boulder near our village... Since then, our little grey cells have been working overtime ;-))
