Das positive am Warten: Man kann sich ein bisschen geschichtlich mit der Cookstrait beschäftigen 😃 Es wieder Zeit für die Rubrik COOKSTRAIT.FACTS 🙂 Der holländische Seefahrer Abel Tasman (1603-1659) sah als erster den Kanal, dachte aber es sei eine Bucht und fuhr vorbei. Viele Jahre später war dann der britische Seefahrer James Cook (1728–1779) am 22. Januar 1770 der erste Durchquerer des Kanals.

It‘s time for COOKSTRAIT FACTS again.The Dutch voyager Abel Tasman was the first one to recognize the channel but he thought it was a bay and therefore he just passed it. The British voyager James Cook (1728-1779) was the first one who crossed the strait on 22 January, 1770.
