Projects are not limited in the time, they can run for an unlimited time if there is updates.
These both projects was created the same day, but you can notice (since the next patch) that the first one will expire in 6 days, because he got an update yesterday.
For the second part, we are hardly working to avoid any legal issues for anyone, including our users, our team, and our partners.

Ahh, and for the -6, you was probably under 80% of voting power :) this will be changed soon to reflect the idea behind the bug.
