RE: What do you want from Steem? I'll build it — but I need your suggestions
#1. First and foremost, what I'd like to see in condenser is an answer to this question,
- How can a web site operator generate revenue from Steem while having limited choices for on & off ramps through the exchanges
In the days of the California and Alaska gold rushes, much of the money from gold went to a supporting ecosystem of people who weren't gold miners. Similarly, there's a whole network of product and service providers who don't sell AI, but are still benefiting from today's AI ecosystem. It would be nice if condenser were designed to power a revenue model like that. Right now, revenue for web site operators seems like an afterthought...
I have two possible answers,
- Advertising: make it easy to plug condenser into Google Adsense or other reputable advertising networks.
- Value added services that can be subscribed to and priced in USD or other national currencies. I don't have many examples, but here is one possibility:
- Steem users could subscribe to a service that requires monthly payments in USD and delivers favorable placement for their posts on the web site in return?
#2. Provide incentives for token burning. i.e. make /promoted the landing page - instead of /trending; add /promoted back to the feeds menu; and interleave promoted posts into feeds; and/or give them other prominent screen space for visibility.
