Request for Your Experience Please (diabetics)
Awhile back I posted about my ideas of using the blockchain to educate and share about diabetes. I had hoped to have better response, but all i can do is keep chucking the poop and eventually it'll stick to a wall somewhere.
Good Morning, afternoon, or Evening everyone.
Recently i was at my GP (doctor) and I mentioned that wife wasn't able to take ibuprofen, and he said to me that I should not take it either, because it would cause my blood sugar to raise. In 29 years of being a diabetic, this was the first I had ever heard anything about this from anyone.
I did some research, and will post my findings once this one expires.
But research done by the medical system doesn't always mean everything to me, and so I want to know YOUR EXPERIENCE.
Any, please. Lets discuss this possibility, and then see what the research says. Here's a hint: research says it actually lowers blood sugar: in Type 2 diabetics. (I'm type 1)

I myself am not diabetic, but my dad had type 2, and my grandfather had type 1 so I understand your concerns. Considering the differences between type 1 and 2, it makes sense that ibuprofen could effect each differently. I hope you find other diabetics to talk to on here. I will resteem and will try to reach out to any friends I have with either type.
I sure appreciate your support! I always offer whatever info on my diabetes experience to anyone who wants it. It must have been something for your grandfather to have type 1. The medication and information is so very different now than it was then! I suspect you have some stories?
I was pretty young when my grandpa was still around in the 80s, but yes it was a lot harder to manage back then. He had a lot of complications keeping his blood sugar level good. I remember always seeing little bottles of insulin in the refrigerator.
No kidding. If i get some more interest in the topic i'll post about some of the gear that is being used now, but the technology has come a long way. We STILL keep our insulin bottles in the refrigerator though!
Hi @brockolopolis... I've just contacted family in Chile who have told me that my nephew - the only one with diabetes 1 is prescribed paracetamol when he has headache... hope that helps your research...

He's 16 and was diagnosed about 5 years ago (I'll confirm)... It's taken a while to stabilise...
If they have any questions i can help them with i will be very happy to. I suggest the freestyle libre to monitor his blood sugar. It's a game changer.
Thanks @brockolopolis. I will ask them how they do it - I know that they do a lot of counting at the moment and he's becoming quite good at that.
The counting with that device is much easier and potentialy most cost efficient.
You may want to include the Ketogenic diet in your research. Your diabetes could possibly be reversed.
I've had tremendous success with using supplements and exercise to reduce, and nearly eliminate the requirement for me to take insulin. What are your findings on the Ketogenic diet regarding diabetes?
