When we were kids, we had lunch outside. It was either on a Saturday or a Sunday. There was a table outside, and we would take the dining room chairs, set them up, and sit under the tree. There were always two roast chickens, roast potatoes, and roast vegetables.Auntie May and Aunt Ellen would come over.

The most important thing was that the radio was brought out, and the Goons show was playing.
We had to be seated by exactly 1 o'clock. It was a British comedy radio programme.Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe, and Peter Sellers were on it.During lunch, half of us didn’t understand what was happening, but the adults would laugh all the time. There was usually some wine or alcohol, and definitely Malva pudding. After lunch, everyone helped clean up and do the dishes. That's how the weekend used to be.

I loved how you incorporated the family gathering around the radio to listen to the Goons show, it adds such a unique touch to the post 🌞📻👍
