Al Powell.
I love how Reginald VelJohnsons character in Die Hard is supposed to be this lovable good guy, we find out he killed a kid while on duty, and we are then supposed to go "Aaaah, he's a good guy though!"
He agonizes about not being confident in using his service weapon anymore. Like, good, my dude. That's a rational response to killing a child. Why do you even have a gun still? Why are you a cop? Why isn't your precinct building being set alight?
His character arc is actually for real that he gets over having shot the kid. That's the triumphant moment. He's ready to kill again. I don't think that height of copaganda could be reached again today, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone ever talk about how it's problematic that Al Powell is a baby killer.
