What type of shopping complex have you visited? Briefly introduce it.

I recently visited the largest and newly opened shopping mall in Chittagong, themed around "Shop, Fun, and Relax." The opening ceremony of this mall took place on January 30th, meaning it has been just one week since it began its journey in the city. Right from its opening, it has already earned the title of being the city's largest shopping mall.

I am going to share my experience of Meridian Kohinoor City. This 12-story building is packed with shopping and entertainment experiences. It houses shops ranging from 200 sq. ft. to 10,000 sq. ft., with a total retail space of approximately 2.5 lakh sq. ft. The mall is built in a very important location at the heart of the city center.

It is located at MM Ali Road, Dampara, Chattogram. Both sides are surrounded by the important commercial areas of GEC, and the Chittagong Metropolitan Police headquarters is located right in front of it. Except for Fridays, the mall remains open daily from 10:30 AM to 9:00 AM. In view of the upcoming Ramadan, they have decided to keep the mall open until late at night.

Being newly opened, I noticed many banners, festoons, and various decorations outside the market. Large posters on both sides of the exterior, highlighting the market’s launch and its sponsors or brands, were very eye-catching. This was my first visit, and my experience was wonderful.

The shopping mall is beautiful; at first impression, a visitor can tell it was built with a unique design and all modern amenities. Looking up from the bottom of this 12-story building, you can't even see the top—I have seen taller buildings, but the design of this one is truly unique and futuristic.

There is a large open space in front of the market where visitors bring their cars before moving them to the parking area. Security guards were on duty constantly to manage the private vehicles. The main entrance gate is made of glass with an automatic system, which looked beautiful from a distance.

There are many brand shops on the Ground Floor. Many customers prefer to visit specific stores for certain items located on different floors. Upon entering the ground floor, a large yellow directory board catches the visitor's eye, clearly stating which categories of stores are on which floor. The Ground and 1st floors house all the brand showrooms; the 3rd to 6th floors have ladies', kids', and gents' items, while the remaining floors consist of a super shop, gaming, and entertainment zones.

Since the mall is brand new, there is a distinct atmosphere—it feels like a place for both shopping and wandering around. The stores are structured along the side walls, leaving a wide open space in the middle from where you can see all the way up to the top floor ceiling.

The interior decoration is excellent. I was particularly attracted to the hanging round lights. They caught my eye as soon as I entered, and looking up at the lighting design from below felt amazing. Additionally, various launch decorations were hanging from the ceiling, and the interior and ceiling designs varied from floor to floor.

Now, regarding the shops: I visited the gents' stores. Having all the major brand shops in one place on the same floor is very convenient. Brands like Gentlemen, Gentle Park, Blue Moon, Artisan, Shoilpik, Rajasthan, Art, Craftsman, Valor, and many others were there.

The interiors of the shops were clearly visible from the outside. Because they used glass interiors, products could be seen from a distance, encouraging customers to visit the stores as soon as they stepped off the lift. The arrangements in the brand shops were grand and very attractive.

The mall is equipped with capsule lifts, escalators, and standard stairs. The best part is that the lifts are located in two separate compartments in different areas, ensuring visitors don't face any inconvenience or crowds while moving between floors.

The lifts are modern and of high quality. They were built to carry many people securely. I noticed that there were staff members to operate the lifts, which is a great service for the visitors.

As a large shopping mall, it has everything one might need. There are washrooms for both males and females on every floor. Although I didn't visit them, I can assume they are well-maintained.

The entire building is secured with CCTV cameras on every floor, managed from a control room. For emergency situations, there are emergency exit stairs located at two spots on every floor.

I also noticed fire extinguishing systems on every floor for safety. Dustbins were placed in important spots like near the lifts and waiting areas, and they had full arrangements to keep the mall clean.

To the left of the building, there is a huge parking area. To maintain discipline, skilled staff were deployed to control traffic. I noticed that the staff were very polite to the visitors and guided them on where to park.

I visited several brand showrooms. Keeping the upcoming Eid in mind, most shop owners have brought in new Eid collections, which caught my attention. The gents' showrooms were stocked with high-quality products like pants, shirts, polos, Panjabis, and T-shirts.

What is the most attractive product there?

I specifically visited the Panjabi brand showrooms to get an idea of the upcoming Eid collections. I saw two Panjabis at Shoilpik and Valor displayed on mannequins that were of premium segment, and their designs were very attractive.

Aside from the products, the hanging lights from the ceiling were my favorite part of the mall. The bulbs provided an ambient vibe, and because of their round shape, looking up at the ceiling felt like looking at stars in the sky.

This was my first time visiting the mall, and the experience was extraordinary. Although I didn't buy anything this time, the ambiance of the market really attracted me, and having all the brand shops on one floor makes me want to visit again.

I really liked the Eid collection Panjabis. After talking to the shop staff, I learned that more collections will arrive within the next 2-3 weeks. Therefore, I will definitely consider Kohinoor Shopping Mall for my Eid shopping this year.
