That's a pretty neat process for making small amounts of charcoal, not something I would have thought of.
You said that you use it as a filter medium for your aquaponics? I'd be interested to know what that's all about. I've been experimenting with aquaponics for the last 5 or 6 years, and I can always use more ideas on that. Perhaps you could do a post about it sometime.
Thanks, I've been using small amounts of charcoal in the media beds to help eliminate algal bloom problems that I've had in the past. It also has helped a lot with water clarity and nitrogen spikes. I'll try to get a post up about it in a couple weeks when hopefully I'll have my greenhouse cleaned up.
