We started with the left side of the base and put down our first coat of epoxy. We are working with a brand that we ordered off eBay and it came with no instructions so we were not sure of the mixing time. It is a 1:1 mixture and we mixed it for 4 minutes (which is about the time we used for the other 1:1s we have used). We took a risk on ordering it from eBay because the same volume here in Hawaii costs 4 times as much.

After we laid down the coat we removed the tape and brushed down the edges. We take the tape off early because we don't want the resin to harden on it because it embeds the tape in the resin and then we have to sand.

Once we finished brushing off the sides we took the torch to it to get out the bubbles.

We then mixed up another batch and used the brush to paint the epoxy over the rest of the piece. We did this in the interest of time because each pour of the large surfaces would take a day and we only have the weekend. We hope this works and hope the epoxy cures OK.

We will have to wait until the sun comes up.
