I Did a Thing Today (Also Titled "Find our house now, delivery boy")
A few months ago, 911 (emergency services) gave our little road a number since it has enough people living on it to require one. We are now officially Private Road XXXX. (HA! You thought you'd get my home address, didn't you?) We have continued to use our old address for shipping until recently, when I had to renew my license and they wanted my physical address. That was a pain. Anyway, so now we HAVE to use the new number and road number. This has caused some confusion with UPS and FedEx as we do not normally receive mail at our home, we have a Post Office box in town. I decided it was time to officially change our fence post from reading our old number, to a new one. Repainting it wasn't much of an option as it is very cold outside (paint wouldn't set), and the old paint is black and white...black is hard to paint over without it bleeding through.
So I made the husband dig me up a board that would cover the old number. I set about painting it this morning. I had trouble deciding on a pattern to use so I looked at a few and threw them together in my head, coming up with my own. Here is my process, from drawing, to painting. Enjoy!
I hung the finished product on the fence post next to our gate. Now if Google would just catch up to the new address change. So far our Private Road does not exist on their maps. sigh

That is a great job, you are talented my friend. It's good to be hidden from the world sometimes, this means people leave you alone. LOL I love being in the bush.

UPS seems to find us okay...but fedex tries to deliver our packages to other towns, then says they cannot find the address. I think they just don't want to drive up the mountain really. The PO here doesn't deliver, so we have a PO Box too...it can get a bit confusing.
Yep. Lots of confusion. Our road wasn't even considered a road until another two houses were built on it. Now it's suddenly its own number and no one can find it. So frustrating. Thanks for your comment, @elew!

Thanks, @abbijulie. I never know where my package is going to end up. I must not have gotten the sign up in time. They delivered my package to my neighbor's old house...where they don't even live anymore! Love back! I hope you're having a good day!
Great day has been had. We go shopping tomorrow afternoon. Abbi has been waiting and planning all week. She also has been fairly good. Her nurse is going with us. We love outings and the help will be nice. Good night for me hope for you. Lov
