For the privacy conscious out there: today is your lucky day. The geniuses behind the end-to-end encrypted email client, ProtonMail, have done it again -- this time with the beta release for ProtonCalendar. The latter uses the same end-to-encryption as the former (so think Google Calendar meets Signal). They also offer a great VPN client, aptly named ProtonVPN.
ProtonDrive is also reportedly under development, with a beta release anticipated for sometime in 2020. Once they have a full encrypted suite -- email, calendar, cloud storage and VPN -- there will be little justification to continue placing Gmail/GSuite as your default.
