Dumplings and Golden Syrup

Ok, so remember the stew and dumplings from earlier? Dont use all the dumplings in the stew, save some!
heres the recipe for just the dumplings..?
- 125g/4½oz plain flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 60g/2½oz suet
- water, to make a dough
Now this time, instead of dropping them into the stew and into the oven, drop them into a large pan of boiling water for a few minutes,
Serve hot and spoon over some Golden Syrup, or treacle, which will then melt all over those squishy doughy lumps of deliciousness!
Hope you enjoy as much as I do :-)

Its my weak spot and possibly the only Icant seem to buy here so when we visit UK, i usually bring a couple of tins back but its so heavy! I used to stick a box or two at the bottom of each pallet of books we import here buta couple of years ago I got caught. Nearly lost the books and got fined so I daren't anymore!

maybe it taste like "kwek kwek" here in our country 😍
No, but i understand where youre coming from. Golden syrup is like a sticky refined sugar and the dumplings are boiled and not deep fried...and there are no eggs! Its more like a sweet sio pao, with no filling if that makes sense?
