Not sure about this FUD about EOS but recently it seems that people are slowly losing trust when it comes to 6th most largest cryptocurrency if measured by market cap.

On the other hand one might argue how decentralization doesn't neccesarily mean freedom and equality, not even close, but it is a better governance model than completely centralized one...
