it destroys your immune system and there are high chances for complications causing permanent damage in kids. meaning after u recover from measles you would be likely to get sick from something else. its something that happened to every kid back before the vaccine at some point. its something bad that happens all the time and you cannot avoid before vaccines, so you cant blame them for taking it as if it was normal. a 0.3% risk is dying is also low enough to not be too worried. today though all measle deaths are unnecesary deaths. deaths that we could have avoided but did not. back then it was something normal cuz you couldnt do anything about it, now it is not. look at us today, there is some kind of scandal about trump almost every day and we feel so numb by it that we take the scandal situation to be a normal day in america. back when trump was running for president him calling mexicans rapists and "grab them by the pussy" was still a scandal. now him victim blaming rape victims like during the kavanough trials is such a normal day in the white house that you probably didnt even bat an eye. or as an another example, plane crashs kill less people than car crashs. yet we look at car crash as something that happens every day and is not news worthy but plane crashs are. we try to prevent plane crashs but take car crashs as something that is normal and has to be accepted. cars are actually death traps yet due to their convenience we accept the lethal risks that come with the car. we cannot avoid cars.
