No food allowed before the doctor makes Nadi (my dog) sad
We travel back to the vet office today and I have been given specific instructions to not allow Nadi to have any food both last night and this morning. She is following me around with this look on her face that says "why are you doing this to me?" but I want to get the most accurate reading that we can get when we hopefully travel to the vet for the last time in a while today.

She's thinking "there's something you forgot to do today and last night!
The last time we went I got some not so great, but also not so surprising news about how she has indications of her liver shutting down and for any creature, including humans, this means that your days are numbered.
It isn't 100% confirmed though, so I am trying to remain positive but also realistic. I don't want to convince myself of having hope that things are going to be amazing or that the blood results were wrong somehow only to have it confirmed that the initial analysis was in fact, correct. I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
In the meantime though our 11:30AM appointment can't get here fast enough because if there is one thing that Nadi really enjoys in life it would be her food. I am normally very good on giving her her treaty pies and yum-yums but for the past 18 hours she has been on a strict "no food" diet.
The fact that I still am eating and right in front of her makes this even more difficult for her. Normally her stares when I am getting something for myself results in her getting some of it but today that couldn't be the case

normally she would definitely get some of my delicious hot dog... not last night!
I muck about (break the rules a bit) with almost everything else in my life but when it comes to medical care I do exactly what the doctor says to and I think this is probably pretty wise. I don't lie to them about what I feed her or how we live our lives in order to try to make us look like exceptional creatures because that just makes the doc's job more difficult.
Today we go and get an ultrasound at almost exactly 2 hours from now. Before we leave, I have to try to somehow collect some of Nadi's urine for a test as well. I have some ideas, I just hope that Nadi doesn't freak out and run away. I've never had to try to collect pee pee from my doggo mid-stream before.
you have to be very precise about it though because according to the doctor the urine can only be analyzed correct for about 1 hour after it leaves her body: So we are going to have to be very tactical about how we do this since I have to also get her to the vet office along with the sample pretty quickly after I collect it.
Wish us luck! No matter what news we get from the vet we will carry on as best we can. And no matter what the outcome is from today's visit I know Nadi will be thrilled when we get back home and I give her a lot to eat!
