CELEBRATING EARTH DAY - Getting Outside with Baxter

in #dog7 years ago

Happy Earth Day everyone!

What a beautiful world we live in, and how important it is for us to appreciate how beautiful it is. I celebrated Earth Day today by doing two things...

First, I took Baxter out to play! It was over 75 degrees where I live today, so we headed to the dog park to enjoy the beautiful weather on this beautiful day on this beautiful Earth!

Baxter loves being outside more than anything, and was so excited to chase his ball at the dog park. He will run and run and run to catch his ball. Really, he will do anything for his ball. It makes him oh so happy!

It was so warm and sunny today, that Baxter would take breaks in-between fetching the ball to sit in the shade. No matter where we were standing, he would stop and drop his ball in the shade!

Look at that crazy tongue!

My boyfriend took some pictures of Baxter and I playing! I went to throw his ball up into the air, and accidentally tossed it over the fence. Thankfully, Garett was able to pull it back through the fence! He was our savior!

I am so thankful to live in such a beautiful state, with beautiful dog parks, lots of public lands, and so many places to take my outdoor-loving puppy! Being outside, at Baxter's favorite dog park, seemed like the greatest way to celebrate Earth Day!

The second way that I celebrated Earth Day was by purchasing some reusable straws!

(This is not my picture, this image is from Amazon. These are the exact straws that I purchased today!)

In the United States, we use over 5 million plastic straws a day! These straws are not recyclable. They pollute our Earth. They fill our landfills. They kill oceanic animals. They are one of the many convenient plastic objects that are destroying our Earth every single day.

So today, I bought some metal reusable straws. I purchased them off of Amazon for $5.99 USD. It comes with 6 straws and a cleaning brush for the straw. You can purchase it yourself here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y42LRZX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you want to learn more about how you can reduce your carbon footprint and save marine animals by saying goodbye to straws, check out The Last Plastic Straw here: https://thelastplasticstraw.org

We hope that you all were able to celebrate Earth Day today in whatever way seemed right for you!

Now it is time for some post-dog park rest!

Love Always,

@Kass-and-Bax
