Another pup was dumped at the Tiger Cave Temple
There is now a sign out in front of the Tiger Cave Temple that is pleading with people to not drop off their unwanted pets at the temple but people end up doing it anyway. I have not been educated about how this trend got started but it does seem to be a nationwide phenomenon where people will often drop off dogs and cats at temples that they do not want to care for. Then, the monks are supposed to look after them in exchange for financial support of that temple.
Far too often, the people don't even show themselves and I wouldn't be surprised if they also didn't fulfill their end of the bargain by supporting the temple.
We haven't had a great many drop-offs lately, but recently we did have one.

Like most dogs that haven't been traumetized, this pup is a very friendly girl but we still needed to transport her for a health check as well as sterilzation. We cannot allow unsterlized females around the temple or we will end up with more and more and more dogs there.

She was very cooperative as far as the transport was concerned but she didn't leave without first attracting a lot of attention from the dozens of dogs that gather around the entrance when I arrive in my truck.
After a brief recovery, we gave her a bunch of food and we brought her back. The system we use is, by necessity, always the same where we return the dogs from where we got them from. We would love to take care of all of these lovely animals, but we simply do not have the space or resources to do so.

We also got this nameless one vaccinated while she was there because this is a very important part of the process as well.
Unless there are some dogs hiding in the jungle nearby, all of the dogs at the Tiger Cave Temple are sterilized (just the females) and vaccinated (all dogs and cats.) While we do wish we could provide them with a better life than this, it is preferable to being homeless. The monks and I make sure that they all have enough to eat and the hundreds or perhaps thousands of visitors to the temple each day have them all quite accustomed to human interaction and this makes them much more eligible for adoption later.
