My dog guilted me me into hanging out with her all day
I know I write a great deal about my dog but that is because she is kind of the center of my world and she looks fantastic in every photo that is ever taken of her. This is in stark contrast to me as I would need to hire a professional photographer and a wardrobe person, both who would likely get quite upset with me over the course of a photo shoot, in order to get a few Tinder-worthy shots of me.
But on this particular day I hadn't actually planned on taking Nadi out with me everywhere but she just made me feel super guilty and I ended up taking her all over the place.

Nadi is a very smart dog. She knows the subtle cues that I am about to leave the house such as me putting on a certain type of shorts or trousers that are not exercise versions. She knows that this means I am going somewhere social and not on a run or something like that. When this happens she will follow me all over the house with this look on her face (looks just like the above) which kind of says "you aren't going to leave me here alone, are you?"

I can't look at that face and leave her behind without feeling really terrible about doing it so I strapped her in, and took her with me. I didn't have much planned, I was just going to go to a nearby coffeeshop and do some work there just so I don't end up getting cabin fever from always working from home.

I didn't order that much stuff, just a cappuccino and some pastry something or other but she just stares at me with the same look until I give her some of it. Did you know that some dogs really like milk foam?
Some of the other people in the cafe will look at me funny as I use the little stirring spoon to give her the milk foam and she quickly licks it all up. I don't know if caffeine is bad for dogs so I am pretty careful to not get her involved with very much of that but she would probably drink it anyway.
She has a sensitive tummy these days so we have to be careful.
Later, as I was walking there was an empty lot, one that I have talked about before and she ran around in there for a while. I don't know what came over here but she decided to dig her ears into the mud even though I was telling her to stop doing that. When I said one of her keywords to her, the dreaded word "BATH", she stopped. But the damage was already done.
her pretty decorative ears are a magnet for filth and when we got home she had to get a long one.

As always she was very very compliant in the tub and when the water part of the process is over she gets super excited and runs around the house like a crazy puppy. This is where she gets her first treat. Then, I think she kind of actually likes the hair dryer portion of the process except for on her face and ears. We have to do those as well though but I do them as quickly as I can.
After that part she does "zoomies" again and then she gets another treat.

After all that we threw around one of her newer toys that I have nicknamed "Chickadee" which doesn't make sense because it is a duck sort of hot dog thing but whatever man. She likes it.
Although it looks like I posed her for that last pic I did not and well, you have to get a picture of that, right?
All in all, we ended up spending a good 4 hours in a row together and for Nadi, I think that is what she wants to do more than anything else in the world. Later on when I said "nite nites!" she runs to the bedroom and then got all cuddled up.

She was snoring within 5 minutes. I am so jealous of her ability to fall asleep so quickly. I wish I could do that.
It was a pretty great day. We even got to see a couple of her human friends and we made some new ones. Nadi is really good at that too.
To think, I almost left the house alone. I'm really glad that I did not.
