Indeed... yet, I've put in more hours commenting and curating. I'd say you certainly need to blog a lot (and well) to get your STEEM power up. Yet if you have a decent amount, curating becomes worthwhile also.

I feel like sometimes you are only working for less then minimum wage for the amount of time that you put into it but who knows maybe it will be worth a lot more in a few years if Steem goes up in value a lot.

I don't look at it that way.

I look at it like this:

  1. I'm sharpening my tools as a writer and curator. I'm looking to curate and blog full-time. That involves putting in the 10,000 hours to achieve mastery. As I've said previously, the pandora's box has been opened. Working two or three hours a day to earn live changing money, seems a small sacrifice to me. If it isn't viable, then that should become apparent within a few months, thus no harm done.
  2. By voting on content, I'm protecting my investment. Steemit only works if Dolphins and Whales spend the time to engage with the site, help apportion new coins appropriately and engage with new users.
  3. Every piece of STEEM Power I accumulate works like adding a snowflake on snowball that's rolling downhill. STEEM Power compounds, so any amount you can accumulate should not be overlooked.
